Cuerpo de Gestión and Cuerpo Administrativo are two separate Seguridad Social convocatorias with two different exam structures, and preparing for the wrong one wastes study time. Here is exactly what each turno looks like under the current call.
Are Cuerpo de Gestión and Cuerpo Administrativo the same oposición?
No. They are two independent selection processes, each with its own BOE resolution, and their plaza counts must never be added together. The Cuerpo de Gestión call (BOE-A-2025-27067, as corrected by BOE-A-2026-5352) offers 526 plazas by turno libre and 995 by promoción interna. The Cuerpo Administrativo call (BOE-A-2025-27158, as corrected by BOE-A-2026-5351) offers 1,056 by turno libre and 400 by promoción interna.
Both rest on the same Ley General de la Seguridad Social, which is why they are so often described as one exam with two levels. They are not. Each sets its own programme, its own exercise structure and its own competition, so a single headline plaza figure that merges the two describes a race nobody is actually running. The only numbers that matter to you are the ones inside your own convocatoria and your own turno.
How many questions are on the Seguridad Social oposiciones exam?
It depends on which corps and turno you are sitting. Cuerpo de Gestión de la Administración de la Seguridad Social (subgrupo A2), turno libre, has a first exercise of 90 questions in 90 minutes (BOE-A-2025-27067, §6.3.1). Its promoción interna turno is shorter: 60 questions, also in 90 minutes, drawn only from Bloque VIII of the syllabus (§6.4.1).
Cuerpo Administrativo de la Administración de la Seguridad Social (subgrupo C1), turno libre, has a single exercise split into two parts within 120 minutes total: a primera parte of 70 questions and a segunda parte, the supuesto práctico, of 15 questions, for 85 questions overall (BOE-A-2025-27158, §6.2.2). Its promoción interna turno is 50 questions in the primera parte plus a 12-question supuesto práctico, 62 questions in total, in 90 minutes, restricted to Anexo I.B of the syllabus.
What is the pass mark for the Seguridad Social exams?
Every part is scored from 0 to 50 points, and you need 25 points in that part to pass. For Gestión, the first exercise is a single part, so scoring 25 of 50 clears it.
For Administrativo, the exercise has two parts and both are eliminatory: the primera parte and the segunda parte (supuesto práctico) are each scored 0 to 50, and each needs 25 to pass. Critically, the segunda parte is only corrected if the primera parte already reached 25, so a strong supuesto práctico cannot rescue a weak primera parte.
Is there negative marking?
Yes on both corps, but the fraction differs. Gestión deducts one third of a correct answer’s value for every wrong answer; Administrativo deducts one quarter. Neither corps penalises a blank answer, so leaving a question unanswered never costs you points on either exam.
How many options does each question have?
Three on the real Gestión exam, four on the real Administrativo exam, per each convocatoria’s own wording. This app stores every question with four options so distractors are never invented to pad a three-option item. That makes the Gestión mock in this app slightly harder than the real thing, since a blind guess is worth one in four rather than one in three, never easier than the real exam.
What topics does each corps examine?
A shared Seguridad Social core, plus five subjects that only Gestión examines. Both programmes set Seguridad Social, Derecho Constitucional y de la Unión Europea, Derecho Administrativo, Función Pública y RRHH, Protección de Datos, and Igualdad y No Discriminación. Derecho Laboral, Gestión Financiera, Derecho Civil, Derecho Mercantil and Transparencia y Gobierno Abierto are set only on Gestión’s programme, and Administrativo’s Anexo I offers no counterpart tema for any of them, so for an Administrativo candidate they are pure wasted study time.
Seguridad Social itself is the largest block on both programmes by a wide margin, so it is the one to work through first whichever corps you sit. What differs is everything around it: Gestión spreads the remainder thinly across ten further subjects, while Administrativo concentrates almost all of it in Derecho Constitucional y de la Unión Europea and Derecho Administrativo. That is why a Gestión study plan copied across to Administrativo leaves the two heaviest non-Seguridad-Social blocks under-prepared.
What isn’t covered by a multiple-choice mock?
Both convocatorias include a component this app cannot grade. Gestión’s second exercise, an oral reading of up to four written answers chosen from five offered plus an eight-question supuesto práctico, has no multiple-choice questions at all; it accounts for 50 of the corps’s 100 total points. Administrativo’s supuesto práctico, by contrast, is answered with ordinary multiple-choice questions in the real exam, so this app’s segunda parte draws real syllabus questions for it. Both corps also run a later curso selectivo or probationary period after the written exams, which by its nature carries no test questions either.
