Under the federal construction fall protection rule, at what height above a lower level must a worker at an unprotected side or edge be protected from falling?
Based on: 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1)
The CHST exam from BCSP covers four blueprint domains, led by hazard and risk identification and control at 36.6%. This independent app drills all four domains with 120 original practice questions written from federal OSHA regulations, each one showing the regulation it rests on, plus 46 flashcards, 5 study notes and a timed mock.
CHST stands for Construction Health and Safety Technician, a certification awarded by BCSP (the Board of Certified Safety Professionals) to people who work in construction safety. BCSP asks for three years of experience in construction safety where at least 35% of the job duties require technical skills and knowledge in safety, health, and environment (SH&E).
The CHST5 examination blueprint splits the exam into four domains with these weights:
BCSP allows four hours. The BCSP pages reviewed for this app do not state the number of questions, so this page does not give one.
BCSP does not publish a numeric passing score. It sets one minimum passing score on the total score using criterion-referenced methods (Modified Angoff and Bookmark), and candidates do not need a minimum score in each domain. This app's mock uses 28 of 40 as a study target. That figure is our practice bar, not the official pass mark, and the app labels it that way.
BCSP lists a $140 application fee, and the examination is $300 for a single attempt. You have one year from the approval of your application to sit for it.
All four domains, with 120 questions in this first release: 44 on Hazard and Risk Identification and Control, 24 on Emergency Preparedness, Incident Investigation, and Response, 27 on Safety Program Development, Implementation, and Sustainment, 25 on Leadership, Communication, and Training. The mock draws 40 questions in 60 minutes in the blueprint's domain weights. It is shorter than the real exam.
The app lists these limits on its own screens too:
Practice domain by domain, from fall protection, excavations and scaffolds to OSHA recordkeeping and training duties. Wrong answers go into a review list, and a readiness score tracks each domain on its own.
40 questions in 60 minutes, drawn in the blueprint's domain weights. The 28 of 40 target is a study bar, since BCSP publishes no numeric pass score, and the app says so on the mock screen.
The questions are original, written from 29 CFR Part 1926 and related federal rules on recordkeeping, hazard communication, record access and bloodborne pathogens. Under an explanation you see the paragraph it rests on, for example 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1). No BCSP materials or paid textbooks are reproduced. Everything works offline, with no account.
One note on the exam format (domains, time allowed, how the pass mark is set, fees and eligibility), written from BCSP's own pages, and one per blueprint domain that cites the regulation paragraph behind each point. The flashcards cover the numbers and duties that are easiest to mix up, at least 11 per domain. The exam format note and the Domain 1 note are open in full before you buy.

BCSP allows four hours for the CHST examination.
BCSP does not publish a numeric passing score. It sets one minimum passing score on the total score with Modified Angoff and Bookmark methods, and there is no minimum score per domain. The app uses 28 of 40 as a study target in its mock, and labels it as a target, not the official pass mark.
They are original questions written by RiverMap Learning from public U.S. federal regulations, mainly OSHA's construction standards in 29 CFR Part 1926, plus 29 CFR Part 1904, 1910.1200, 1910.1020 and 1910.1030. No real exam questions, BCSP materials or commercial question banks are reproduced.
It covers all four domains, but not every topic inside them. State-plan OSHA rules and blueprint topics with no federal regulation behind them, such as motivation methods, leadership techniques and safety through design, are not yet covered.
The download is free and includes up to 5 practice questions in every domain, 1 mock attempt, up to 10 flashcards in every domain, and two study notes in full: the exam format note and the Domain 1 note on hazard control. Everything else unlocks with a one-time purchase. There is no subscription and no account.
